Wyong High School Wednesday Sport Options

Ten Pin Bowling - $9.00  

Catch a bus to Bateau Bay Ten Pin Bowling Centre and play 1 game. No equipment required.

Slam Factory - $7.50

Catch a bus to the Slam Factory in Tuggerah and skate in the indoor skate park. Bring own skate board and protective gear.

Indoor Sports - $7.50 

Catch a bus to Tumbi Indoor Centre and play your chosen sport. (cricket, soccer, volleyball/netball). Shin pads needed for soccer, protector for cricket (boys).

Squash – $3.50

Walk to Wyong Squash Centre play against other students. Can bring own racket, but not required.

Tennis - $3.50 

Walk to Wyong Tennis Centre and play doubles or singles with other students. Can bring own racket, but not required.

Fishing - $2.00     

Walk to the Wyong River and fish. Bait and hand lines are provided.

Walking – FREE

Walk around the local area

School Sports - Free   

Games of basketball, soccer, touch football, netball and volleyball are played at school and at Baker Park.

(Year 7 term 1, Year 8 Term 2, Year 9 Term 3, Year 10 Term 4)

Table Tennis - $2.00        

Students participate in round robin games at school. Equipment provided.

 

Mingara- Swimming/Weights - $9.50  

Catch a bus to Mingara and do a 40 min workout class with an instructor then a swim in the pool. Every student needs to bring a towel and swimmers.

Canoeing- $2.00          

Walk to Wyong River and paddle up the River. Equipment provided.

Lawn Bowls- $ 6.00            

Catch a bus to Mingara and get trained by a qualified lawn bowls coach. Equipment provided.

Karate - $8.00                  

Catch a bus to Tuggerah and get trained in basic karate techniques by a qualified instructor. No equipment needed.

Dancing Lee Academy - $3.50

Walk to Lee Academy studios to learn modern hip hop / funk / jazz dance techniques by qualified instructor.

Acrobatics/Gymnastics - $7.50

Catch a bus to Lee Academy Acrobatics studio in Tuggerah. Learn a range of acrobatic and gymnastic skills. No equipment needed.

Beach - $4.00         

Catch a bus to various beach venues. Students participate in games such as volleyball, Frisbee, cricket and football. Swimming is only allowed in the baths not the beach. Towel and swimmers are required when going to the baths.

Relaxation / Yoga - $4   

Students participate in a range of yoga and pilates activities. A qualified instructor is used. No equipment is needed.

Dancing – School Dance Group - Free  

Students who are chosen to represent the school in the dance group practice their dance routines.

AFL - $5.00

Students are coached by a professional from AFL NSW. They receive an AFL kit bag. No equipment required.

Learn to Swim - $9.50

Catch a bus to Mingara and have swimming lessons from a qualified instructor. Every student needs to bring a towel and swimmers.

Students make three (3) choices online. They must choose 3 different activities in which they are willing to participate in for the whole term. Sport choices will not be changed during the term.
