2009 SHOW DAY

Welcome again to the CCATA steer show for 2009. The date is Monday the 24th of August. This is week 5 term 3.

There is a big push this year to ensure all steers and schools are NILS compliant. Outline below is a flow diagram showing the various forms and NILS devices needed to satisfy the requirements. WE MUST GET THIS RIGHT IN 2009.

All entry forms will hopefully be lodged online if the IT students at Wyong High know their stuff and can help Mr.Unger who had no idea. The entry forms will be automatically emailed to Simone Neville at Berkley Vale.

The theme for the students had drawn poster competition is using  BEEF IN COOKING AND FOODS.

There will be some more activities for the students during the day including

*Guess the steers weight competition - for $2.00 a guess can be made of the steers weight. First Prize if half the money.

*Identifying cattle breeds - The students will be shown a booklet of 10 cattle breeds with a multi-choice answer sheet. Ten correct answers will gain the student a CCATA breed award.

*Identifying components of cattle feed - The 8 main ingredients of cattle feed will be displayed and a multi-choice answer sheet will again be used. A CCATA grain identification award can be gained.

If their are any problems or Questions about the show please contact Ashley Unger at Wyong High -ph 43531088.

The school has 7 days to notify the DATA BASE about the arrival of the steer at school.  Contact the Data Base at -- CLICK HERE

The steer is happily eating the year's budget away, has been making lots of methane and the neighbours want to close down the ag farm.   Luckily the steer has only kicked three students this year.
